Park Avenue Hotel, site of teen girl’s murder, to be demolished

According to officials in Weehawken, that town won the right in court on Friday to buy the Park Avenue Hotel there for $1.5 million, demolish it, and replace it with affordable housing. It was the site in 2006 of the murder of Jennifer Moore, 18, of Harrington Park, N.J. After spending the night of July 25, 2006, drinking at a Manhattan bar with a friend, Moore was offered a ride home from a drifter, who allegedly strangled her and stuffed her body in a suitcase, which was dropped in a Dumpster in West New York.
