Three Jersey City council candidates announce

Today, Jersey City Mayoral Candidate Louis Manzo unveiled the first three of nine City Council candidates that will be on his ticket when he runs for mayor in May.
The candidates are as follows, verbatim from a Manzo press release:
Ward D Candidate Jim Carroll – Jim is a fourteen year veteran of the Jersey City Police Force, serving in the rank of Sergeant and as the Commander of the Municipal Court Scofflaw Warrant Unit. As a member of the Jersey City Police Department, Jim has received numerous citations and commendations.
Furthermore, Jim is an attorney who is licensed to practice law in the States of New Jersey and New York as well as Federal District Court. He maintains a private practice in the Heights section of Jersey City, where he resides with his wife and two daughters.
He said, “It is my priority to attack local crime, get violent gangs off of our streets and protect the citizens who contribute to our neighborhoods.”
Ward C Candidate Jimmy King – Jimmy has been a member of the Journal Square section of Jersey City for over forty-five years. His resume encompasses vast experience in the public sector, formerly having served as Executive Director of the Jersey City Parking Authority, Hudson County Undersheriff and Director of Public Resources for Hudson County.
Jimmy’s proudest accomplishment rests in his serving as the Standard Bearer of the Jimmy King Civic Association, which has over three hundred members. This organization works to achieve a higher quality of life for the residents of Journal Square.
At-Large Candidate Lori Serrano – Lori has an extensive history in the Finance industry and she now is employed by the Jersey City Public Schools as a Principal Account Clerk. Lori also has a history of public service as a Committee Woman. Furthermore, Lori was Vice Chair of the Jersey City Housing Authority from August of 2006 – May of 2008, when she became the Chair of that Authority, serving in that capacity until October of 2008.
Lori is the single mother of a son and daughter, ages thirteen and eight, respectively.
