Dear Editor:
A year ago, on Christmas Eve, Clarendon School in Secaucus lost one of its most beloved members with the passing of Mary Tighe. A fifth grade teacher for most of her tenure on the faculty, her presence on a daily basis brightened the minds of her students and warmed the hearts of her colleagues.
It has been said that great teachers inspire. In this spirit, we celebrate this one year anniversary not with sadness but instead with appreciation, love and admiration for this gentle soul. Her spirit remains alive within our classrooms, and her inspiration defines the very best of our educational community. In so many ways, it is a gift beyond measure.
If you would like to share your Ms. Tighe memories/stories with her family and friends, please email us at ClarendonBee@yahoo.com.
