LEWIS, ROBERT J. ‘BOB’ – Funeral Services were held Jan. 2, for Robert J. ‘Bob’ Lewis, 87. He died Dec. 31. Born in Jersey City, he owned and operated the Mohawk Diner in Jersey City for 48 years, retiring in 1978. He was a graduate of Dickinson High School. Mr. Lewis served in the Army Air Corps during World War II and had been awarded the American Service Medal; the Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Survivors include his wife, Edna; a son, Robert, and a daughter, Bette McCarthy, Patterson, NY; seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
