The Jersey City Artists’ Studio Tour, in its 18th year, saw thousands of visitors last weekend (Oct. 4-5) viewing the work of over 600 artists at nearly 100 venues throughout Jersey City.
From 11 Monitor Street in the Bergen-Lafayette section of the city to the Pershing Fields Community Center in the Jersey City Heights, sculptors, painters, photographers, photographers and other types of artistic souls showed off their creations.But the centerpiece of this tour was the kickoff on Oct. 3 at Canco Lofts on Dey Street near Journal Square, where there were 12 separate shows with over 200 artists exhibiting throughout the building.
The tour was presented and sponsored by Mayor Jerramiah T. Healy, The Jersey City Municipal Council, Division of Cultural Affairs, and the arts organization Pro Arts, along with the Hudson Reporter. Comments on this story can be sent to rkaulessar@hudsonreporter.com
