If you don’t have to drive through hours of traffic to get to your job, a shopping center, or a friend’s house, that can save years of your life. Luckily, you’ve made the smart choice to live or do business in Hudson County, with its convenient housing, jobs, and public transportation opportunities. Because there are so many gleaming new residences, builders are adding even more facilities, transit stops, and school buildings this year.
While the waterfront has always been a popular site for housing and restaurants, there are new neighborhoods sprouting up in formerly industrial areas, including those previously dominated by a can company or a converted hospital.
And speaking of hospitals, the seven acute care facilities in Hudson County are facing new challenges and adding competitive services to adapt to them.
In Jersey City and North Bergen, “big box” stores like Home Depot are providing jobs and shopping opportunities for residents who need a variety of products for their new homes and businesses.
And how do you get there? Easily. Hudson County’s 607,000 residents are enjoying new train stops, including the light rail train, which extends from Bayonne all the way to North Bergen. There will be even more stops in the next few years.
Local educational and recreation options in the area are expanding, including new schools and new superintendents.
Within the pages for the Hudson Reporter newspaper chain’s annual Progress Report are stories on residential and commercial developments, hospitals, jobs, and schools.
