Girls’ Night Out A night of shopping, cocktails, and fun

Celebrate summer with a little bling for your summer fling!

This Monday, June 11, Lua will hold the third “Girls’ Night Out” party, from 7 to 10 p.m.

The night will feature over two dozen vendors, a fashion show, and more. So whether you are in the mood for shopping, drinks, or just a good time – there is something for guys and gals.

The event

Girls’ Night Out was created by organizers Gina Avolletta, Amy Grossberg, and Jennifer Tighe, who wanted to create an exciting event as an alternative to the happy hour cocktail.

Held at the elegant Lua on Frank Sinatra Drive in Hoboken – it will be a night to remember with DJ music and events held in the spacious restaurant that brings a little taste of Manhattan to the mile-square.

The event is free unlike other shopping events in the city and includes half-price beer and wine all night. Food will be available at the bar or at a table in their outdoor café overlooking the Hudson.

Avolletta, who is the general manager of City Bistro (sister restaurant of Lua), said that at the last “Girls’ Night Out” in November, they had large crowds of men and women despite the weather.

“It was a torrential downpour and people still came out,” said Avolletta. “I don’t know if it’s the word ‘shopping’ followed by cocktails, or the [word] ‘girls.’ ”

She added, “It brings everyone together under one roof – hang out with your friends, drink and shop. It’s more of an event really.”

This party will be their biggest event yet, with double the vendors and a fashion show. In addition, Jeannine Mercurio, an astrologer, will give readings.

Every half-hour a raffle will be held. The participating venders each donated a gift basket for the drawing, and all proceeds will go to a Hoboken charity.

According to Avolletta, at the last event they collected $500 for the Hoboken Homeless Shelter and she hopes to double the donation this time.

In addition, Club H Fitness reps will be on hand to discuss the gym and packages. They will also raffle off a free membership.
