Dear Editor:
Does anyone out there actually think that Hoboken isn’t appealing enough of an environment to attract money from the free marketplace to develop property? The thing that makes the Hoboken neighborhood streetscape special is the organic development that has occurred over the years; different styles, different sizes and different materials designed for and by different people. These development zones seem like a great idea for a nice gated community being built in a swamp in Florida, not here.
However I do propose that what we need is SWIDZ, the SW Infrastructure Development Zone. Join me at the next city council meeting May 16 to tell your newly elected or re-elected councilperson what you think.
