Spring is here! It’s time to strip off all those layers and jump into spring fashion. This season, the colors are whites, brights, and colors inspired by beach vacations. Many area stores are chock full of designer ware that will keep you in style. To find the look and the stores – read on!
The look
The number one item for women this year is the dress. Whether long, short, or somewhere in between, it is a “must have” to keep you cool when the weather turns hot. The long sleeved tunic is another versatile item that will go the extra mile. The tunic can be worn many different ways. Worn loose over a bathing suit, it becomes a beach cover-up. Or it can be layered over a tank with a large low slung belt and skinny jeans for a night out on the town. For the truly daring, a longer tunic can be worn as a mini dress.
Fluttery, colorful, wrap-around shirts flatter almost any figure. This spring, the shirt is shown in whites, florals, and beach inspired brights like yellow, blue, and teal.
Fabric is updated in eyelet, which looks fresh, feminine, and flirty. Another popular fabric is terry cloth, for bags, wraps, and comfortable loungewear.
Colorful extras
Even those on a budget can update last year’s look with the right accessories like belts, bangles, and bags. The wide hip hugging belts that were popular this past fall are still in. For spring, natural leather with metal hardware, beaded, or even colored tanned leather works. Jewelry is shiny and bold. Long gold or silver necklaces worn layered or with one large stone are hot. Give your outfit extra oomph with large bangles worn stacked up the arm. This season, they are ablaze in colorful enamel, or embellished with gold.
Last year’s wedge sandal is back and updated in colorful patterns. Some are also displayed with long wrap-around straps that circle the calf. Anything goes with handbags! Large hobos, structured messenger bags and the beaded clutch are all acceptable to lug your stuff.
