Texas Arizona Sports, food, and fun!

Just seconds away from the PATH, Texas Arizona is steps away from fun. This busy bar and grill serves up locals and commuters alike with cold drinks, hot food and lots of entertainment.

The atmosphere

Savvy Hobokenites know that Texas Arizona has one of the largest outdoor cafes. With their corner spot, it is the perfect place for people watching. Even mid-week during lunch, people fill the café for a taste of the action.

The front bar room is even livelier. The long bar serves as a focal point visually and draws business men, sports fanatics, and locals in to watch sporting events, which are broadcast on the flat-screened televisions that span the room.

The back dining room has leather banquets and is separate from the front. The service is efficient and friendly – which is just the right mix for this upbeat establishment.

Starters

To start with, my companion and I tried the mini pulled pork tacos, which we were told were a favorite with customers. We were not disappointed. The four tacos were filled with pork, guacamole and mango chutney. The tacos held up after a few bites and didn’t crack at the bottom, which is sadly the case with too many. It had a rich zesty taste with a slightly sweet finish. Definitely satisfying and big enough to split.

Also good was the made-to-order guacamole, which is served in a great big bowl and served with warm, crunchy tortilla chips.

Other appetizers include: cornmeal crusted calamari, chicken or vegetable quesadilla, pizza Margherita, nachos, mini burgers, and more. The appetizers are priced from $8.95 to $11.95.

Entrees Ole!

There are several menu items with a Tex Mex taste that pack a lot of punch. We tried the BBQ pulled pork sandwich and the over stuffed enchiladas. The BBQ pork sandwich was loaded pork and smothered with smoked cheddar and pepper jack cheese. Cheese lovers will be thrilled with the extra cheese. It was a juicy, cheesy sensation. It came with thick cut steak fries that were lightly seasoned.

The enchilada could feed two people or one large guy! The enchiladas (four of them!) were stuffed with juicy chicken, cheddar and jack cheese and was served with guacamole, sour cream, salsa, rice and black beans.

It was nicely seasoned and very filing! The servers will be happy to wrap anything up if you can’t finish it. Other entrees include: fajitas, roasted chicken, skirt steak, and Tilapia. Priced from $11.95 to $19.95.

Other sandwiches include: burgers, chicken sandwich, buffalo chicken, turkey burger, chicken BLT, and more. Priced from $7.95 to $10.95.

Entrée sized salads include: spicy Caesar, crispy calamari, grilled chicken, fajita salad, spinach salad and more. Priced from $6.95 to $12.95.

And…

There are tempting desserts available including: mini-cheesecakes, a “chocolate explosion,” which has three different layers of chocolate, and more. They have a full bar and a wine list. In addition, there are drink specials during Happy Hour and during football.

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night there is entertainment featuring live bands or a DJ. They are open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. All major credit cards are accepted.
