Dear Editor:
My name is Eric Rodriguez, and I am a 10th grader at Hoboken High School. I am writing everyone to publicly thank Mayor David Roberts and the City of Hoboken for again offering the Summer Work Program that provides students like me with summer employment in local government.
I was lucky to have been placed in the Mayor’s Office where every weekday afternoon I helped Mayor Roberts’ staff with different forms of office work that allowed me to meet City Directors and City Council members.
I especially would like to thank Mayor Roberts who was very friendly and supportive of my internship. The program helped teach me a good work ethic and led to my finding a weekend job this fall.
This was a great program, and I look forward to participating next summer.
