Dear Editor:
If I may I would like to publicly commend Oscar Cordero, who in this newspaper recently wrote a letter defending the public record of Union City Mayor Brian P. Stack. Mr. Cordero in his article sets the record straight; Mayor Stack represents every group that lives in our community. Mayor Stack had been criticized by the editorial of the Jersey Journal for holding his monthly public commissioners meeting at the Islamic Education Center. To say the least I was surprised, the Jersey Journal’s editorial feels this way concerning this community matter. Prior to this article I was under the impression that by now after three impeccable years in public office, the media, the press in all of Hudson County knew that our Mayor Brian P. Stack does not exclude any group that lives in our community.
I’m a lifetime resident of this city, and as I walk the streets of my city, I’m proud to say that the majority of the residents of this community appreciate the work that Brian P. Stack is doing as the mayor of this hard-working community.
In closing, if I may, I can’t blame the residents for being happy, because in Brian P. Stack we have a mayor that delivers more services to the entire community than any other public official in the state of New Jersey. Let me remind everyone that only three years ago our city was on the edge of being bankrupt, and it was Brian P. Stack who went to Trenton and brought in state monitors to work with our city budget that at the time was not balanced and had a risky deficit of over 9 million dollars.
Let the light shine on the city of Union City, and Trenton needs Brian P. Stack representing all of us.
