Tang plays Maxwell’s with Eugene, Fulton’s Last Flight, and The Other Half, starting at 8:30 p.m., $7. The Whiskey Bar has Sublime tribute band Badfish at 10 p.m., $7. The Baja in Jersey City has salsa night with local band Sammy and his Group, starting at 9 p.m.Friday, July 9:

Anderson Council, The Stuntcocks, and The Brokedowns perform at a book bash for Kill Your Idols, a new volume of rock criticism edited by Jersey City native Jim DeRogatis, 10 p.m., $5. Maxwell’s has Asbury Park rockers Madjul with Beyond Mirth and Classic Case, starting at 10 p.m., $7. Greg Aulden performs at the Baja in Jersey City starting at 6 p.m.

Saturday, July 10:

The Cucumbers, a band with Hoboken roots, celebrate the release of their CD All Things to You with a performance at Maxwell’s, 9 p.m., $7. Also on the bill: Gary Young’s Hospital, Antietam, and Troy Gregory and the Stepsisters. New York punk/pop band Dirt Bike Annie plays Uncle Joe’s. The Whiskey Bar has the Rory Daniels Band.

Sunday, July 11:

Rodeo-Ristra’s Coffee House Sundays features original music by Ice Wagon Flu, Chickenstand, and Throwdown. It’s open-mic night at Oddfellows Rest in Hoboken, hosted by Michael and Michelle, 8 p.m. P.J. Ryan’s in Jersey City has karaoke starting at 8:30 p.m.

Monday, July 12:

Swingadelic is back at Maxwell’s for a free show at 9 p.m. It’s happy hour all night at Oddfellows in Hoboken and Jersey City. Rodeo-Ristra has poetry by Rich Hemmings and music by percussionist Jamie Serino at its Welcomed Words poetry open-mic night, 8 p.m.

Tuesday, July 13:

Deb Ferrara hosts N.J. Songwriters in the Round at Maxwell’s with 383 Stroker, Melissa Chill, Tom Kafafian, Jake Stigers, and Samantha and Steven, 8 p.m., free. Oddfellows in Jersey City has karaoke starting at 9 p.m., fueled by an all-night beer special. And it’s Ski Club Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, July 14:

Sweden’s femmes fatales, Sahara Hotnights, play Maxwell’s with The Lot Six, 9 p.m., $10. Oddfellows in Hoboken has karaoke starting at 9 p.m., along with $4 Hurricanes all night. Rodeo-Ristra’s Metamorphic Original Music Series features Bobby Syvarth, Robert Matarazzo, and Three Monks, 9 p.m., free.
