Job well done for Public Works

Dear Editor:

As residents and taxpayers of Hoboken, we are quick to complain and too easily ready to criticize the performance or lack thereof of public employees. But when a job is well done, we are derelict to acknowledge deserved praise.

When the private contractor picking up Hoboken’s garbage and trash went into bankruptcy leaving Hoboken without services, the employees of the Public Works Division were pressed into service. They have been doing an excellent job, and this past winter with snow removal and garbage pick-up combined, caused a heavy workload without greatly inconveniencing the city. They should be recognized for a job well done.
