Jazz in June! featuring jazz harpist Edmar Castañeda & his Ensemble (with special guest Grammy Award-winner Paquito D’Rivera), will be held this Sunday, June 13, at 2 p.m. Castañeda has developed an entirely unique approach to the jazz harp by using a left-hand bass accompaniment to his right-hand melody. Since he usually plays by himself, Castañeda developed this style of playing bass, melody, and solo simultaneously. The performance will be held at the Jersey City Museum, 350 Montgomery St., in Jersey City. Jersey City author Karen Latuchie will read from and sign her debut novel, The Honey Wall, at the Jersey City Museum on Thursday, June 10, at 6 p.m. Latuchie’s is the first in an ongoing series of readings by Hudson County authors. Admission to the reading is free, and copies of The Honey Wall will be available for purchase in the museum’s gift shop. The Annual St. Anthony Feast, sponsored by St. Francis Church of Hoboken, will be held June 9-13 at Third and Jefferson streets in Hoboken. Games, rides, music, zeppole, and Italian food will be featured, as well as a procession through the streets on Sunday, June 13, following the 12:15 p.m. Mass. The entertainment lineup includes karaoke night on Wednesday, DJ Dennis DeSomma on Thursday, Los Seis del Sol on Friday, Reminisce on Saturday, and Michael Rosselli and Musica Europa on Sunday. The 30th Annual Cultural Arts Festival will be held at the Jersey City Armory this Sunday, June 13, from noon to 6:30 p.m. Crafts, jewelry, paintings, dancing, a variety of ethnic foods, and live entertainment will be featured. The armory is at 678 Montgomery St.

The Center for the Performing Arts at DeBaun Auditorium and the city of Hoboken present the first show in a summer series of Musical Mondays this Monday, June 14. Singers Judy Moss, Manny Rivera, Barbara Carames, and Melinda Bass will be performing Broadway show tunes including “Corner of the Sky” from Pippin, and “Adelaide’s Lament” from Guys and Dolls. The show is free of charge and will begin at 7 p.m. at Pier A Park in Hoboken.

An opening reception for Seven, an exhibition of paintings by Stefanie Ashby, will be held on Saturday, June 12, from 5 to 9 p.m. Ashby, who moved to Hudson County seven years ago from California, calls her paintings “autobiographical.” The exhibition remains on view through July 12 at Hoboken’s BAMA Gallery, which is located at 946 Bloomfield St. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, by appointment only; Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. Visit www.bamagalleries.com or www.stefashby.com for more information.

I Love the Smell of Plastic in the Morning, an exhibition of the artwork of Scott Sjobakken, will be held through Saturday, June 19, at the 58 gallery, located at 58 Coles St. in Jersey City. Opened last August, 58 is owned and operated by Jersey City native Orlando Reyes and sculptor Mario Monroy of the Bronx. Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, noon to 8 p.m. or by appointment. The Readers’ Circle book group will meet on Thursday, June 17, at 7 p.m. to discuss Summer, a novel by Edith Wharton.
