Double Down plays the Whiskey Bar at 9 p.m., followed by Breaking Laces at 10 p.m. Uncle Joe’s in Jersey City has the Ankles, a solo show by Jett Brando, and A Place to Bury Strangers. Maxwell’s has High Speed Chase starting at 9 p.m., $6.

Friday, May 28:

Rockabilly legend Robert Gordon plays Maxwell’s with The Blue Suede Bombers and The Tombs Tones starting at 9:30 p.m., $10. Houston McCoy, Strike the Colors, and Rockets and Bluelights play Uncle Joe’s in Jersey City. The Whiskey Bar in Hoboken has the Rum Rats.

Saturday, May 29:

School Bus Yellow and Unexplained Beacon play the Shannon in Hoboken. DJ Tait spins at Rodeo-Ristra in Hoboken. Joe Taino leads the legendary Saturday afternoon Blues Jam at Scotland Yard starting at 4 p.m.

Sunday, May 30:

It’s open-mic night at O’Donoghue’s in Hoboken, hosted by New Vintage. P.J. Ryan’s in Jersey City has karaoke starting at 8:30 p.m. Christopher Dean plays Scotland Yard in Hoboken.

Monday, May 31:

It’s happy hour all night at Oddfellows Rest in Hoboken. O’Donoghue’s hosts comedy night – no cover. The Brass Rail has happy hour with half-price drinks today (and every weekday) from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Tuesday, June 1:

Maxwell’s has a free show with It’s About Eve, Deena Miller, Elisa Peimer, Heidi Petrikat, and Ima May Wool, hosted by Deb Ferrara, 9 p.m. The Whiskey Bar in Hoboken has Josh Stedman at 9 p.m., Silent Groove at 10 p.m., and Jesse Gage at 11 p.m. And it’s Ski Club Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, June 2:

Ambulance Ltd., On the Speakers, The Stratford, and The M’s play Maxwell’s at 8 p.m., $8. Battle of the Bands at the Whiskey Bar in Hoboken with The Other Half at 9 p.m., Taste at 10 p.m., and Confusions Prince at 11 p.m. And it’s Swing Night at Willie McBride’s, starting at 7 p.m.
