We want progress & support the 800 Jackson St. project

Dear Editor:

I am writing that my friends and I support the project at 800 Jackson St. I am a life-long resident of Hudson County, having lived in Jersey City, Hoboken and now Union City and find it interesting that it is always the same local vocal minority that is opposed to any new buildings being built, especially if it is high-rise. The real reason these individuals and groups are protesting is that they want to protect their own NYC views and are not interested in the general look of Hudson County. Even friends of mine from the suburbs and from NY comment how much better Hudson County looks because of the new buildings replacing garbage dumps, neglected houses and old warehouses.

So, I urge the local politicians not to listen to the vocal minority, but to listen to the silent majority who want new buildings because there are many people out there who want progress.
