Jersey City resident Rikki Reich will showcase her photographs of New Mexico at the restaurant Ginger and Spice in the Harborside Financial Center in Jersey City. The exhibit will run through Jan. 3. Reich’s works are photographs in sepia/selenium toned silver gelatin that present a timeless beauty in their lack of reference to location or era. They are also a metaphor of the journey of life within the remnants of 19th century adobe architecture, according to Reich. In her abstract expressionistic style, the photographs speak to the unconscious about hidden realities and the natural progression of decline and rebirth, which give rise to new forms.
