The Ball is back and better than ever. The Hoboken Masked Ball, that is.
Set for Nov. 1 at 9 p.m., the Black Tie optional affair will take place at Hoboken’s only beach at the Hoboken Brownstone Co., former site of the Maxwell’s coffee factory.
The second annual event will have a Latin twist this year. People can enjoy a "Hot Night In Havana" and dance to rumba, mambo and the cha-cha-cha. Live music will be by the popular band Joyride. There will be an open bar and light hors d’oeuvres, and try your luck at our charitable casino.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Hoboken Historical Museum.
"Last year it was a success, and this year will be even better," said Bob Foster, museum director and curator.
The Hoboken Ball was held at the Hoboken Train Terminal last year. More than 1,000 people attended.
Tickets for "Hot Night In Havana" are $200 per person for reserved seating. Organizers expect to raise about $10,000 for the museum.
The Hoboken Ball will be held at 1101 Hudson St. on Nov. 1 at 9 p.m. Parking will be available. Tickets can be purchased at the museum at 1301 Hudson St. or online at www.hobokenball.com. For information call (201) 656-2240 or visit www.hobokenball.com. – E. Mulero q
