I’ve been blessed to have Ed Clark as my friend and colleague

Dear Editor:

I am writing this letter to commend an old friend and colleague, former Hudson County Executive Edward F. Clark, Jr.

I served for many years with Ed Clark on the Hudson County Board of Chosen Freeholders where Ed was the Freeholder Director and then went on to be elected the first County Executive under that form of government in 1977. Ed served the office until December 1987 with honor and integrity and was able to provide a myriad of government services to the people of Hudson County while maintaining a strict line on precious taxpayer dollars. Ed has a small staff of three in this office and would be seen early in the morning and late night in his 5th floor office in the County Administration Building.

I must note that to this day, we will meet Ed Clark at various funeral services where he never fails to pay his respect to the families. Ed also attends governmental affairs such as the dedication of parks and other public functions.

Hudson County certainly benefitted from the work of Edward F. Clark, Jr., and my life has been richer for being his friend for the past number of years.

Sincerely,
William J. Wolfe
Former Hudson County Freeholder and Sheriff
