Hoboken’s teachers and staff members celebrate their retirement at The Chart House

Dear Editor:

Last week I had the beautiful opportunity to attend the Hoboken Teacher’s Association party at The Chart House.

The end of the year party was to honor over 25 teachers and staff members who are retiring at the end of the year.

These 25 people have been employed by the Hoboken School District for 25-39 years approximately. They have served our children in all aspects of their educational years. The party was a huge success; however, noticeable missing was the Superintendent of Schools. How could he not attend and show his respect for these dedicated employees?

I am a relative of two of the members who are retiring and felt it was truly a disrespect to all of the retirees by his absence.

Perhaps he had prior commitments. However, a designee or letter of congratulations seemed to be in order.

Despite his blatant absence, a great time was had by all.

My sincere congratulations to all for serving Hoboken’s students. Enjoy your well-deserved retirement.
