Dear Editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. J. Miele, Service Learning Coordinator; Mr. P. Gagliardi, Superintendent of Schools; Ms. Linda Palumbo, Principal Calabro School and Mr. Bob Meyers, Musical Director, Hoboken Schools for sponsoring an excellent program bringing senior citizens, middle and high school students together, not only for enjoyment they bring to the elderly, but for the wonderful job they do making themselves part of all our senior citizen programs.
The young students from the high school performed a dance routine at our Christmas party and included the seniors as their dancer partners; what a pleasure it was to see the elderly interacting with the young — these young men showed concern, respect and made it fun.
I write this because these students should be recognized by others for the good and helpful ways towards the elderly and our veterans and how much they add to our community.
To all who have helped us in the name of our Elderly/Veterans, I say “thank you” and God Bless You.
