The Peace

Oh! Peace where are you hiding?
I search you in the hearts of men,
But you escape with clapping,
I chase you now and then.

Thou hast gone and the world is in woes,
Come hither quickly and
spread your tiny hands
on friends and foes.

The people are thirsty,
And wish you from the heart,
Come and bless all,
I pray you not to go apart.

You flow from the heaven
And divine on earth,
Let us plunge in your water
And allow to quench our thirst.

Oh God, let the peace prevail on earth,
It’s like a gentle rain from heaven,
Cooling to all with blessings,
Joy and mirth.
