Dear Editor:
I find the recent events concerning the lack of support for war on terrorism from our supposed allies France and Germany shameful. After sacrificing thousands of American lives in the liberation of France from Hitler’s Nazi Germany — the United States and its true allies find themselves being maligned and undermined by these ungrateful countries. Their duplicitous and treacherous behavior should not go unpunished.
One need only look at the historical creation of the European Union — which sole purpose was to establish an “economic superpower” in Europe to rival if not surpass the political and economic supremacy of the United States. Historically, France has harbored contempt and jealously towards the U.S. as well as the world. As a former colonial superpower, France is now relegated to “second world status,” fearful of being upstaged by the “New Europe” consisting of Latvia, Estonia, Bosnia and many other countries, which overwhelmingly support a change of leadership in Iraq. These former Soviet republics have a unique understanding of oppression and tyranny having spent the last 50 years under communist rule a lesson sadly forgotten by France.
France and Germany are desperately trying to reassert their diminished political and economic influence in the region and throughout the world. A quick analysis of French and German economies show countries in dire financial straits (unemployment 10 percent) as well as a crumbling social infrastructure (skyrocketing crime rates) these societal and financial ills are directly related to their outdated and bankrupt ideology based on socialism the close cousin of communism.
The treachery of these two countries is also shared by the United Nations, which has finally been exposed for the fraud that it is. Unable and unwilling to enforce the sanctions of its own Security Council, it has been effectively rendered “politically impotent” and should be relegated to the trash bin along with its predecessor the equally useless “League of Nations.”
Germany and France need not worry. Their cowardice is equally matched by the unpatriotic Liberal and Democratic party right here in America. With such political savants as Barbra Striesand, Cheryl Crow and George “Clown”ey, they are well represented in these naive ideologues. Where were all the pacifists and Hollywood liberals when their disgraced former president Bill Clinton unilaterally bombed Bosnia without a U.N. resolution? Oh, I forgot! He was a Democrat — they always get a free pass. An overwhelming majority of Americans support our president as well as our country — contrary to what is reported by the liberal-dominated media. The Islamic religion has been hijacked by fundamental militant extremists bent on destroying our Judeo-Christian culture. At stake here is not just the war on terrorism but the future of humanity and civilization as we know it. The citizens of the United States understand this very well. The Democrats do not. This is why the country has swung clearly to the right — away from pacifism, appeasement and naivete.
