Dear Editor:
On February 16 the township of Weehawken lost one of its finest citizens and most distinguished and respected public servants. Sadly, on this day Deputy Mayor Louis Ferullo passed away.
Mr. Ferullo, or “Lou” as he preferred to be called, was not just a politician. He was a man who vigorously and selflessly represented the people of his community who believed in him and trusted him. He was a man who would listen to you and would actually hear you. This trait in itself is what separated Lou from all others. His dedication to his job, his constituents and mostly his family, is to be commended and certainly earned the respect of all.
In most cases, Mr. Ferullo knew you and your family by name. He was aware of your needs, if any, and took every step possible to assist in these needs. This man was the epitome of professionalism and courtesy. His presence, both physically and emotionally will be missed by so many of us who knew and loved him.
Our heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to Mr. Ferullo’s family. And to this warm, caring gentleman we say, ‘thank you, ‘Lou’ for a job well done. It will be impossible to find anyone to fill your shoes. You will be sadly missed.
Elaine and David Flood
