Hoboken First Committee welcomes new members

Dear Editor:

The officers of the Hoboken First Committee want to thank all the new members who have joined the Committee since the first of January. We especially want to thank the 477 members who braved 15 degree weather to join us at the Installation of Officers Dinner/Dance on January 24 at the Elks Club in Hoboken.

The common concerns and goals we share will make Hoboken a better place to live, work and raise our families. We will all be working together to insure that issues such as traffic congestion, parking, smart growth, quality schools, clean and safe streets, and stable taxes are at the forefront of the public discussion this year. We will continue to encourage our government to be open, accessible and free from petty hostile confrontation.

We are grateful to those who have joined the Hoboken First Committee and look forward to a spirited discussion about Hoboken’s future. We invite those who have not joined yet to stop by our club at 1006 Washington Street to discuss the goals and aspirations for Hoboken and how they can help.
