As the holiday season is drawing near
May your hearts be filled with Christmas Cheer
God bless each precious one of you
Let your love for Him come shining through
Most of us are not rolling in wealth
Some are ailing and in poor health
Lots of us are wheelchair bound
While some need a cane to get around
Silver threads intertwine in our hair
There’s a little bulge here and some wrinkles there
The young look on us as a motley crew
Yet we can still dance a jig or two
Play us some jazz or a minuet
We’ll show you there’s life in us yet
For this we thank the good Lord above
Celebrate His birthday, show Him your love
Sing out His praises — spread joy and cheer
Not only on Christmas, but each day of the year.
