Mayor Glenn Cunningham

Dear Editor:

I was glad when you won Glenn, I thanked my God
But I knew it would be a fight and a hard road to trod
This city was left in a complicated, in others words a mess
And frankly Glenn I was scared for you, I must confess

So I prayed that our God would see you thru
And he has his hands on his human son. Glenn, you.
You have a lot of phony friends, be careful out there.
They will knife you in the back, they don’t give a hoot or care

You worked hard and brought Jersey City out, it’s looking good
All you needed was the chance, Glenn, me I knew you could
Keep God in the fore front, hold onto his unchanging hand
You can hold you head up high, because you surely are the man

All the evil and backbiting they threw at you, they can’t win
God got your back don’t worry because he won’t let them in
You are like the son I lost kind and always helping others
I am so proud that you are Mayor my friend and my brother

Jersey City was bless to get a mayor that really cares
About all its people and who looks out for our welfare
This is one senior who is so proud to know a man like you
May God always smile on you and Sandy your whole life thru
