National Hispanic Heritage Month

Dear Editor:

September 15 to October 15 this year marks the celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month.

All across this great nation people of Hispanic decent have written countless chapters in American history. Hispanic Americans have served with heroism in every major American military conflict. Business leaders, artists, academics, scientists, and many other Hispanic Americans have greatly influenced American’s artistic, legal and political communities. Hispanic Americans continue to build unity and cooperation among various groups in the United States.

This month is set aside for all of us to stop and reflect upon the many contributions that the Hispanic influence has had on the living and changing American culture. Whether it’s through food, music, the arts, sciences, humanities, business or trade, each of our lives has been touched and enriched by our experience within or exposure to Hispanic culture.

Generations of proud, hardworking, Hispanic Americans have strengthened our communities and fought for our county. National Hispanic Heritage Month is a good reason for every citizen who loves our nation, to salute Hispanic Americans.
