Dear Editor:
My name is Sandra Mandell-Lucci. I am the aunt of Michael Stine, a former resident of North Bergen. Michael is a 15 year-old honor student who was recently diagnosed with brain cancer. He recently had surgery and only 30 percent of the tumor could be removed because it’s located at the tip of his brainstem. He is currently living with a permanent shunt to reduce fluids from his brain. His condition requires further MRIs, radiation and chemotherapy. This situation prevents his mother from being able to go to work to help support the household.
We would like to invite you to join family and friends of Michael’s in a charity softball tournament. The tournament is being held on Saturday, August 3 at 7:30 a.m. in James Braddock Park in North Bergen. Throughout the day, all participants of the tournament are invited to join the fun at Nick’s Tavern for food, drinks and prizes.
