BALLROOM DANCE CENTER OF HOBOKEN

Located in various studios throughout Hoboken, including Steven Institute (201-653-2522). Wedding dances, swing, salsa, tango and all types of ballroom and theater dancing offered. Teaching in all levels, no partner necessary.

BALLROOM & SALSA DANCE CENTER

946 Bloomfield St., Hoboken (201-659-5623) Located at B.A.M.A. Gallery, the group offers private salsa, swing, and tango classes, seven days a week.

GARDEN STATE BALLET

28 Glen Road, Rutherford (201-939-3398). Offering a wide variety of classes including adults only and children’s ballet, pointe, and theater workshop for teens. Scholarship program is available.

HOBOKEN DANCE CENTER

57 Eighth St., Hoboken (201-96-DANCE). Offering classes in ballet, tap, jazz, for pre-school through adults. Scholarship program available.

THE HOBOKEN SWING SCENE

The group meets every Wednesday at Willie McBride’s (616 Grand St., Hoboken) from 7:30 p.m. to midnight and on Sundays at Maxwell’s (1039 Washington St., Hoboken) from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They also offer bi-monthly crash courses for beginners and intermediates. (201-459-0264).

THE HUDSON REPERTORY DANCE THEATER

180 Ninth St., Jersey City (201-432-5534). The group is currently accepting applicants for this year’s summer Dance Camp, at the Community Education and Recreation Center (CERC). The camp will be for kids 6 through 17 years old, and it will held from July 8 to Aug. 17.

THE KENNEDY DANCERS

79 Central Ave., Jersey City (201-659-2190). Offering classes for people of all ages in ballet, gymnastics, hip-hop, African ballroom (salsa, foxtrot, cha-cha, etc.) and more. Also home of the Junior Dance Company, composed of inner city teens from the Inner City Dance Training Program.

MONROE STREET MOVEMENT SPACE

720 Monroe St., Fifth Floor, Hoboken (201-222-8033). Offering dance, movement, drama, tap and karate classes for infants, children, and adults. Classes offered are: creative movement, ballet, modern, improvisation, gymnastics, yoga, special boys classes, seasonal arts and movement programs, and parent/child movement, music and language.
