Please support me and the entire Column A team in order to maintain the highest standard of government service

Dear Editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported me as your freeholder in the Fifth District. I am indeed honored to have had the opportunity to serve the residents of Hoboken and Jersey City Heights and ask for your support to continue this relationship as we approach the June 4 primary.

I have fought hard to protect the interest of all citizens within the district and I sincerely appreciate your support for me. I hope to continue to represent you for another three years, and as always, my door is always open for suggestions and comments.

This is an important primary for Hudson County and all members of the Democratic party. As we move forward in this millennium, we must continue the fundamental traditions of our party while adapting to a challenging, new environment. That is why I ask you to support me and the entire Column A team, lead by Tom DeGise, our candidate for County Executive.

Please join me and my colleagues, Congressman Bob Menendez, State Senate Majority Leader Bernie Kenny and Hoboken Mayor Dave Roberts, in furthering the progress we have made to improve the quality of life by creating more open space, build on our educational institutions and hold the reign on government spending.

During this campaign we are forging an alliance committed to maintaining the highest standards of government service and quality. That is why I would like to ask you to support me and the entire Column A team to continue this task. This starts from the top of the ticket to all the committee persons in Hoboken and Jersey City Wards C and D, along with the Jersey City City Council, including Mariano Vega, Bill Gaughan and Steve Lipski.

I intend to fulfill my commitment to preserving our open spaces, such as the recently completed passive areas in Washington Park/North Street, and the soon to be constructed children’s playground at Columbus Park. As a member of the Hudson County School Board of Estimate, I am committed to the expansion of the Culinary Arts program in Jersey City and the North Hudson Campus, as well as to fight for a High School of Performing Arts.

I am proud to have fought for millions of dollars in affordable housing funds, as well as to ensure we maintain and upgrade our county road system. As always, I pledge to do the best possible job for all the residents of the Fifth District and for Hudson County. Working together, we can continue to maintain the lines of open communications and innovative government this year and for many years to come. Again, I thank you for your support.
