Dear Editor:
I want to congratulate Gov. James McGreevey on his recent restoration of the office of the Public Advocate for the State of New Jersey. His creation of a Cabinet-level post for New Jersey’s pubic advocate is a boon for the average New Jersey resident who sorely needs a champion in matters concerning corporate giants and utilities.
Gov. McGreevey’s choice of Seema Singh as the Public Advocate is also to be commended. She understands the importance of bringing government back to the people and the importance of their government to be responsive to their needs.
New Jersey residents, especially the poorer and elderly residents of our communities, need assistance in dealing with insurance companies, banks, law enforcement agencies, and even government agencies.
By restoring the Public Advocate and elevating the post to the Governor’s Cabinet, Gov. McGreevey has demonstrated his commitment to New Jersey’s citizens and consumers.
I applaud our Governor for his foresight and for his willingness to be a true advocate for the people of New Jersey.
Brian P. Stack
