Hotel on the Hudson New Hyatt months away from opening

Steve White did not know much about Jersey City when he was named the general manager of the upcoming Hyatt Regency Hotel situated at the edge of the Hudson River.

“I’m very impressed with the buildings and the people,” said White, who currently lives in Rochester, N.Y.

Excited about the new hotel’s prime location, he has spent most of his recent days preparing for the projected July 2 opening.

“It looks beautiful,” White said. “It’s going to be the landmark for hotels in this area.”

Joining the Candlewood and the Courtyard Marriott, the new Hyatt adds a third hotel to the posh development that is underway on the waterfront. But in terms of a skyline view, the Hyatt will take center stage – literally. It sits on the southern pier of the Harborside Financial Center, a few feet away from the Hudson River.
