Please leave ‘No Parking’ signs in place

Dear Editor:

Municipal agencies and utilities work hard to coordinate their efforts on construction projects that benefit the general public. Their mutual intent is to provide the highest quality and diversity of services, while minimizing inconvenience to the communities they serve.

When municipalities post “No Parking” signs, citizens are asked not to remove them, even if they are having a difficult time finding parking spaces. When these restricted spaces are taken, it delays the completion of public projects and creates additional work and costs for utilities and local governments. This impacts the taxpayer, the ratepayer and the law-abiding citizen who must now be further inconvenienced — even the person who took down the sign originally.

Our communities work best when they work together.
