Dear Editor:
I would like to congratulate the Devils of the Hoboken Recreation Roller Hockey League for winning the first city roller hockey championship. On Saturday December 22, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. the Devils played the Flyers in the semi finals. The Devils prevailed and won the right to play the Islanders in the championship game. The championship game was played at 6:00 p.m. also on Saturday. Again the Devils prevailed and beat the Islanders 7 to 2 with O. J. Figueroa scoring three goals, Benny Rotondi scoring three goals and Ricky Gnassi scoring one goal. For the Islanders, Lance Aligo scored both goals. It was a great game and a great season, and all the teams in the League should be proud. Once again, congratulations to the Devils.
