Dear Editor:
The recent tragedies that occurred in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, must serve as a reminder to all of us of the freedoms that we enjoy in this nation. These attacks were directed at us because of the rights that each and every one of us has. These attacks were directed at us because of the way we live our lives, free to do as we choose. These attacks were directed at us because we the people have the freedoms of speech, religion and democracy.
These things are the foundation for our nation. We must ensure that they are as strong as ever. I urge each of you to vote in the upcoming election. It is important that each of us expresses our opinions and casts a ballot of our choice, in order to maintain the freedom in which we live.
My hope is that you will not only choose to vote, but that you will vote for those people who are most capable of working for us and with us.
Just as President Bush has stood strong in guiding our nation over the last couple of weeks, Bret Schundler will stand strong in serving the people of New Jersey for the next four years.
In order to help Mr. Schundler, we must elect people to the State Senate and General Assembly who will work to make our future bright. People who will give our parents the choice of which school to send their child to. People who will ensure that our streets are safe and who will work to ensure that we never have to spend another day living in fear. People who will put the people of our great State first again. Martin McFadden, Ador Equipado and Ira Jersey are those candidates.
God will see us through our times of crisis, but it is up to us to ensure that our future is filled with promise. I hope that you will join with me in voting Column B on November 6.
Maryann McFadden
