Dear Current

Great funny review ("Mondays with Morrie," Oct. 4) by Prescott Tolk. – T. Weed

We felt lucky to have it.

OD’ing on L&O

How about some law and order with all of these ‘Law and Order’ spinoffs? – Rusty

So don’t watch.

Should I visit the site?

Friends keep telling me that they’ve visited Ground Zero in order to put the WTC disaster in perspective. They said that you can’t really grasp the magnitude until you see it up close. However, I find it offensive to gawk at people’s tragedy. Do you think it’s worth going? – R.J., Weehawken

Seeing it with your own eyes is not a bad idea, but we don’t think you’ll miss anything by staying away from the site. For one thing, they don’t let you get that close (although you can see it if you come in from the east side, going west on Fulton Street). For another, the Army personnel and police down there have enough people to keep an eye on without you adding to the mix. Finally, there’s still a lot of dust there, and it gets in your eyes and nose. If you have asthma or contacts, I’d recommend seeing it on TV.

Screenwriters, unite!

Is there any group in Hoboken for screenwriters? – "Uncle Syd"

We might consider forming one. If you’re interested, send your name and contact info to Current@hudsonreporter.com. Also check inside this issue for an article about two budding area screenwriters.

Re: Hal wastes his wages

I have read your column in the Current Oct. 4-10 issue, and certainly understand your need to "waste" $50 in a creative manner, while helping out the situation, as Rudy Giuliani suggested. Since NYC has so much to offer for $50, here is my idea: go to [names of clubs deleted] in the Flatiron district, and you’ll meet nice and beautiful girls willing to serve you … Keep in mind that these clubs are just like any other businesses: they have employees on payrolls and pay taxes (property, income, SDI/UC, SS) to the city. If you want to look "legit," then reply me. We will pick a time and date and go within the next two weeks. I know some of the girls there, and they have some beautiful bodies, beautiful bodies. – Anon.

OK, so we’ll bite. Are you a friend of Hal? Is this a joke? We weren’t fooled.
