Dear Editor:
On May 31, 2001, a demonstration took place in front of City Hall because candidate Schundler is running a radio ad featuring Jersey City resident, Grace Bowen. The 77-year old resident who lives in subsidized housing and does not receive a tax bill states in the radio ad that (property) taxes are lower now than 10 years ago.
Bob Franks who is running against Schundler for the Republican primary asked Jersey City residents to bring their tax bills to City Hall.The public chanted, “Taxes are higher, Bret is a liar.” Naturally, City Hall dispersed the crowd by using heavy machinery to cut the grass.
Since Schundler is using a campaign of deceit, I am requesting old and new tax bills be mailed to Bob Franks for Governor, 168 Franklin Corner Road, Building 1, Suite 4, Lawrenceville, New Jersey 08648.
