Russo’s friendship and kindness is something our family will never forget

Dear Editor:

I am supporting Mayor Anthony Russo in this election because during the summer of 1979 Mr. Russo knocked on the Stolte family’s door to inform Janice that the Hoboken Board of Education was hiring teachers. At that time, Anthony Russo held no political office. His gesture to the Stolte family was one of friendship and kindness. Janice, who was teaching in Saints Peter and Paul Parochial School, applied for the teaching position. She was appointed in September of 1979 to Connors Elementary School as a fifth grade teacher. It was during this time that I met my future wife.

If it were not for Mayor Russo going out of his way to inform the Stolte family of the opening, while asking for nothing in return, I never would have met my wife. That is why my family is supporting Mayor Anthony Russo. I hope everyone remembers Anthony’s kindness throughout his years as a Hobokenite.
