Mayor Russo deserves re-election

Dear Editor:

Mayor Anthony Russo and his running mates, Nellie Moyeno, Steve Hudock and Jim Fitzsimmons, deserve re-election on Tuesday, May 8th. Mayor Russo set goals and has been very successful in accomplishing all of his objectives.

Recently, a roller-rink was opened for both children and adults on an underutilized park on Second and Adams Street. Last year, American Legion Park on Twelfth and Willow Avenue was revitalized. Pier A Park, Sinatra Park, and Shipyard Park give us waterfront accessibility for the first time in the City’s history. Work has commenced on Castle Point Park which will increase our access to the waterfront and extend the river walkway. Plans for renovating Pier C into another public playground are now being formulated. And, yes, the Russo Team has added a nice soccer field for our kids. During the summer season “Concerts in the Park” and other cultural activities are held several evenings of the week. This represents just a few of many achievements of the Russo Administration. No wonder Hoboken has been recognized time and time again as a wonderful urban community.

Hoboken is a safe and friendly town. Our main street is thriving. There are no empty stores on Washington Street! It’s a great place for “walking and talking.” Mayor Russo deserves credit for helping provide such a pleasant environment, which is enjoyable to everyone – both the “born and raised” and new residents alike.

I am proud to give my full support to Mayor Anthony Russo and his Council running mates, Nellie Moyeno, Steve Hudock and Jim Fitzsimmons. Truly, they have earned my endorsement.

Richard Del Boccio
Second Ward Councilman
