Dear Editor:
The Jersey City election has become a referendum on tax abatements.
Louis Manzo has made a pledge not to give abatements to waterfront developers. That pledge is not part of the platform of the other candidates.
If Louis Manzo does not win the mayoralty, then the next mayor can take the posture that waterfront tax abatements are unimportant to the public.
We, the public, have a unique opportunity to keep developers out of the pockets of politicians with the election of Louis Manzo.
I urge the independent voter to cast his/her ballot for Louis Manzo.
