Dear Editor:
Why is an elected Federal official so involved in a local election? Why is a congressman using federal tax dollars (our tax dollars) to send numerous mailings and sponsor political fund raisers for a mayoral election in Hoboken? There are major issues in his districts of West New York and Union City, too, yet Mr. Menendez spends tens of thousands of dollars culled from taxpayers to publicize an opponent of Mayor Russo of Hoboken. He should concentrate on the work he is paid for, to legislate in Congress and represent the people of Hudson County.
I have a message for Bob Menendez, why don’t you stay out of our mayoral and board of education elections, that’s not why we’re paying your salary! I am sure the money you wasted on taking sides in our local elections did not come out of your pocket!
