Dear Editor:
I would suggest the park development for Liberty State Park rethink the thinking of what useful purpose a waterpark, other than dollars and destruction, could possibly benefit the beauty and natural setting of the park. It is very difficult for people who do not feel for the urban people nor realize what a learning experience natural settings are, and it appears their motive is of a selfish one.
The development corporation in all probability has never observed the grounds for the use of the people in Hudson County and others that visit for its settings. There is an abundance of natural habitat that children especially can learn from, only to be taken away for a fund raising idea.
I would hope that they would open their eyes to see what damage will be done with their thoughts.
There is enough wasted land in Jersey City that could be put to good use but most important should Liberty State Park become an amusement park. There is no state park that has officials that would introduce such a thought.
