Call of the wild Would you be willing to appear on Survivor?

Over the past month, Hudson residents found out that one of their neighbors, Mitchell Olson of Union City, was one of the 16 members cast on the reality television show Survivor. Whether Olson was able to survive the vast arid lands, massive waterfalls and rivers, and fierce crocodiles of the Australian Outback for a month is yet to be seen, but the Hudson Reporter talked to a few North Bergen residents to find out if they think they have what it takes to be on the popular show. Here’s what they said.

Julie Rivera, 38

“I would go for the fun of it. It would be fun just for the fact of being with all those different people and being able to win a million dollars. But I wouldn’t go just for the money, because it would be nice to just say I was there, and I was able to survive it.”

Ivan Cabrera, 19

“I would go; why not? I wouldn’t mind experiencing that. I would like it, because it would be like back in the day when there wasn’t anything to eat and you had to go out and get it yourself.”

Liza Roman, 19

“I would be on the show to experience going out there and getting away. I could use a vacation. I wouldn’t want to eat bugs, but I guess I would have to.”

Edson De La Cruz, 21

“I don’t think I would have the ability to do it. It’s too much of another world for me. I’m afraid of strangers, so I wouldn’t like to be on strange island with people I don’t know. Being on an island would be hard enough.”
