I resolve to… What Jersey City residents hope to accomplish this year

It’s a new year and a new millennium, so for most people, it’s the perfect opportunity for change. Some Jersey City residents have set goals for 2001. The following is what a few said.

Dyana Hopson

“My resolution is to save my money to get out of debt. I also want to be more ambitious this year, because there’s a lot of things I want to do that I haven’t done. I sit back and don’t do things, because I’m afraid of failing, but I’m going to start trying more things.”

Catherine McGann

“I said that I wanted to try to stop smoking, but I already started a few days later. I generally make it a policy not to make New Year’s resolutions, because they’re doomed to failure.”

Dolores Landisi

“I made a resolution not to talk about people as much. I don’t do it badly, but I tend talk about people when they do hypocritical things like when they say they’re not going to do something and they do it.”

Royal Powell, Jr.

“I want to go home as often as I can to visit my mother. I always say I want to go more, but I haven’t been bad. I’ve visited my mother five times in the past four months.”
