Where’s the party? What to do on New Year’s Eve

Still don’t have any New Year’s Eve plans? It’s time to get on the ball and figure out where you’ll be hanging at the stroke of midnight. The following is a compilation of few New Year’s Eve parties that are going on in Hudson County.Bars, clubs and restaurants

O’Donoghues (205 First St., Hoboken, 798-5595) will be having live bands, a hot buffet, a Champagne Toast and party favors for $70 a person. Tickets also include an open bar from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m.

Maxwell’s (1039 Washington St., 653-1703) will have Martin Sexton playing on the main stage as part of the club’s New Year’s bash. Armed with little more than a guitar and a suitcase full of heartfelt songs, Martin Sexton has spent the ’90s winning over fans across the land. An uninhibited performer, ardent storyteller, and original singer and guitarist, the Boston-based troubadour is now ready to release his Atlantic debut, The American.

Maxwell’s doors open at 9 p.m., the show starts at 10:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 and include a buffet, a champagne toast and party favors.

Celebrate the New Year at the Top of the Meadows (2750 Tonnelle Ave., North Bergen, 863-2900) where they’re offering a full four-course meal, including dessert and coffee, for only $39.95 per person. Some of the entrees to choose from are shrimp scampi, prime rib and chicken breast in a cheese and wine sauce.

The Whiskey Bar (125 Washington St., Hoboken, 963-3400) is a throwing a Whiskey New Year’s Eve Party with five hours of premium open bar, buffet, champagne all night, party favors and music by Yo Cuz for $75 a ticket.

The Black Bear Bar & Grill (205 Washington St., Hoboken, 656-5511) is having a New Year’s party that starts at 9 p.m. The $75 admission includes a five-hour open bar, full buffet, dance music with a live DJ, noisemakers and a champagne toast at 12 a.m.

Willie McBride’s (616 Grand St., Hoboken, 610-1522) is also celebrating the New Year with a full open bar from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. The live band Exotica will be rocking the dance floor, and there will be food, party favors, a champagne toast and 12 ft. screens to watch all the action at Times Square. Tickets are $75.

Finally, McMahon’s Brownstones (1034 Willow Ave., Hoboken, 798-5650) is having a grand bash on the last night of the year. The $65 tickets include a top shelf open bar from 9:30 p.m. to 2 a.m., a hot Italian buffet, a champagne toast at midnight, party favors, hats and noisemakers and a DJ with plenty of dancing.

The Crowne Plaza (2 Harmon Plaza, Secaucus, 348-6900) is offering two New Year’s Eve packages. Both include deluxe room accommodations for two on Dec. 31, chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries upon room arrival, full room service breakfast for two, assorted party favors and a late checkout at 2 p.m. This package is $209.
