Jersey Avenue, poor excuse for a road

Dear Editor:

Hoboken and Jersey City should be ashamed of the condition of Jersey Avenue between the Holland Tunnel and Observer Highway. Each time I travel this major Hoboken artery, a month’s worth of travel is placed on my car wheels and shocks. These days, one practically needs a 4X4 to navigate the pot holes and old RR tracks that litter this disgusting stretch of road.

Is anyone responsible for this? Although the road is within the boundary of Jersey City, Hoboken cannot be accessed from the south without it, and should bear some of the responsibility for its repair.

With fading or no painted traffic lines and drivers swerving to avoid major damage to their vehicles this has become a very dangerous passageway to and from our overpriced dwellings. Will any of our tax dollars be spent to address this sorry excuse for a road?
