For Hoboken’s continued revival, the Democratic party is the way to go!

Dear Editor:

Tuesday is Election Day throughout the nation. As your Councilman at Large in the non-partisan city government of Hoboken, I believe that who we elect is extremely important to our city’s continued revival.

We need a President, VP, US Senator and local Congressman who are compassionate to the needs of urban communities. That’s why I urge everyone across party lines to vote for Al Gore, Joe Lieberman, Jon Corzine and US Congressman Robert Menendez of the 13th District.

As a former Republican, I know first hand that the Democratic party will serve the needs of this great urban community best. That includes, but is not limited to, enforcing the Americans With Disabilities Act, continued funding for the Clinton Crime Bill that put added police on our streets, providing comprehensive health care for seniors and increasing aid for urban school districts.

I especially encourage our new residents to participate in this election and our local election in May of 2001. If you aren’t registered and would like to register for the 2001 Mayoral race, call me at 798-3781 and I will hand deliver a voter registration form to your home.
