Okay, so first they said Jersey City was the next Hoboken, and Montclair has been Hoboken West for some time. But what’s going to be the next Jersey City? And what’s the next Montclair?
Newark may be a contender for all of the titles, according to a New York Times article that ran two weekends ago. It is true that parts of the town have potential. It only costs a buck to get there from New York, a characteristic shared solely with Hoboken and Jersey City. Is it time for a Newark revival?
But what about the other “next” Hobokens and next Jersey Cities? What about Morristown, Red Bank, and New Brunswick? And then there are those NJ Transit brochures about the great Rahway revitalization.
Now you have the chance to cast your own vote. Which city in New Jersey will be the next Hoboken? What city has the least chance of being the next Hoboken? Do you really care?
Fill out the poll now. The winners will receive nothing, unless you buy a condo in the town in question and it quadruples in value. The results will be announced in early June.
